Kai chatni it's means one type Red ant paste yes you riding correct. It's family members of ant. Kai means Red ant not common red ant. It's only making home in tree upper. Odisha people said Kai but some areas people saying kurkuti.

How to making Kai chatni
Fresh Kai once again better to divide other some types of insect.
Then add some salt some green chilli, some coriander leaf and mix graind grinder mixer. But some people add many more masala ingredients like rasuna, geera.
Some villages people use Desi type you know stone like saying sila and silipua.
Then mix Kai and all ingredients and it's paste. It's name Kai chatni.Now it's ready for eating.
