Pakhala it is an odia cuisine , consisting of cooked rice washed or lightly fermented in water. The liquid part of the dish is name Tarani. It's Odisha's people all time favourite dish. It's serving temperature hot or cold. it is served with popular vegetables - like - potato, brinjal, onion, pickle, bodi and saga bhaja or fried fish, dead fish.
Here many more types pakhala available like - saja pakhala(freshly cooked rice) ,basi pakhala (fermented rice), Dahi pakhala( curd rice),jira pakhala( cumin rice) .
All people love to eat pakhala but specially like to eat summer season because hot climate and pakhala is cold. Cold pakhala replenishes the nutritions is the body.
All odia people celebrate every year pakhala Divas was 20 March. it's celebrate worldwide but some other side country like northern American religion the weather in March is not suitable for cold pakhala so international pakhala Divas is celebrate on July 13
Ingredients
Cooked rice, water, salt, and slice of lemon for better taste.
